Invoice Financing As A Business Loan Alternative

Having a business loan application rejected can be a very heavy blow for a business. Ultimately, this may mean that the business will not be to invest for growth – or not be able to cover certain expenses. For many companies, having business financing is a requirement for growth as they need funds to be able to expand the company into new opportunities.

The two most commonly known financial products that are used to improve a company’s cash flow are conventional small business loans and lines of credit. Although these two products are the best know, they don’t always provide the best solution. If the biggest challenge your company has is that you can’t afford to wait 45 days to get paid by your commercial clients, you should look into invoice financing.

Most commercial transactions follow the same format. The product or service is delivered, along with an invoice. The client then has between 30 to 60 days to pay your invoice, depending on the terms you offer. Many companies have no alternative other than to offer payment terms simply because large companies demand it. It is a cost of doing business, though it could cost you your business if you can’t manage your cash flow properly.

One way to solve this problem is to use invoice financing. Invoice financing is a fairly straight forward product that has been gaining market traction in the past years. It eliminates the 30 to 60 days invoice payment wait, helping companies gain a more stable financial footing. One critical difference between invoice financing and other products is that invoice financing companies look at the credit worthiness of the company paying the invoice as their most important source of collateral. This feature makes invoice financing a viable alternative to small companies with thin or no credit, but a strong list of clients.

The majority of invoice financing transactions are structured as an invoice purchase, where the factoring company finances the invoice in two installments. The first payment, usually 80% of the invoice, is made as soon as you submit the invoice to your customer. The remaining 20% ,less the discount, is advanced as soon as your client actually pays for the invoice.

Setting Up A Virtual Private Network (vpn)

A virtual private network (VPN) can either be a remote access or site-to-site network – whatever the case; you’ll need specific software and hardware to build a VPN. For instance, you may need a desktop software client for each remote user, dedicated hardware (a concentrator or secure PIX firewall), a dedicated server for dial-up, a network access server for use by a service provider for remote users to access VPN, and a network and policy management center.

There is no single way to put together a VPN, which is why most companies come up with a solution for their own needs. Most VPNs, however, make use of Cisco VPN technology simply because it is the most widely used equipment for networking in the world.

So what are some of the hardware components you will need, in addition to VPN software? One component is called a concentrator. This piece of equipment is good for remote access, with encryption and authentication techniques that are quite advanced. With high availability, performance, and scalability, this piece of hardware also includes SEP modules that let you increase capacity and throughput. VPN concentrators sold work in small business situations, as well as in larger businesses, with up to 10,000 remote users.

A VPN optimized router is used for scalability, routing, security, and quality of service. This piece of equipment is usually based on the Cisco IOS VPN software – you can find routers for many different networking needs. Small offices make use of them, as well as larger businesses.

If you’re setting up a virtual private network, you’re also going to need a secure PIX firewall. A PIX (private Internet exchange) firewall comes with dynamic network address translation, proxy server, packet filtration, firewall and virtual private network capabilities all in one. A Cisco VPN always makes use of this type of hardware to set up an SSL VPN, although a PIX usually doesn’t use the Cisco IOS software, but an efficient operating system that is designed to perform exceptionally well.

VPNs are used to connect offices and workstations together over a private network for various purposes. The type of software you implement depends on the type of network you are building. Most Cisco networks use a Cisco VPN
1000
client and software, for compatibility reasons. No matter what VPN client you use, an SSL should be set up to work as efficiently as possible, and have the proper security measures put in place to protect the dissemination of data.

Things have really changed in the past few years, with companies being forced to deal with worldwide markets and offices in different locations across the globe. With segments of modern businesses often spread out across different locations, the most important technology is the virtual private network. VPNs allow companies to maintain internal communications that are fast, safe, and reliable. Modern VPN technology and equipment give businesses the opportunity to do this inexpensively. Without the reliable communication capabilities of a VPN, companies wouldn’t run so well.

Business Financing-9 Choices For Your Small Business

Many owners and would-be entrepreneurs face difficulties as to where they can find a source to finance their business. Here is a list of ways that you might want to consider:

1.	Establish a partnership with company or investors who are willing to put their money in your business. There a two types of partners, the industrial partner and the capital partner. Industrial partners are those who invest their time, skill and effort in the business in exchange for a portion of the income while capital partners invest through contributing cash or property such as machinery to the partnership.

In establishing a partnership, your partner may impose a degree of control over your business besides having a portion of your income so make sure to choose a capital partner who has less demands and conditions and who you are comfortable working with.

2.	Entice investors into your business. Approach possible investors and present a well formed plan that will convince them to invest. This is somewhat similar to partners. The only difference is that investors can only demand minimum control over the business compared to partners although that will depend on the level of investment.

3.	Approach suppliers and make propositions. Convince them to give you supplies in a form of loan payable periodically. That way you will have your raw materials without releasing cash before you gain income.

4.	Avail of loans. Inquire from banks and financial institutions for possible business loans. However, not all banks support newly opened businesses. They are more inclined to extend loans to businesses that are already operating. For starting businesses you might want to choose other ways of business financing.

5.	Get cash advances from credit cards. This is normally used for a quick fix of your troubles but this is not advisable for a long term solution because interest rates on credit cards, can be very punitive. Try to get the introductory rates for lower interests.

6.	Lease your equipment. Rather than spending your money to buy new and expensive equipment you might think of leasing them. Leasing generally reduces the amount of money you have to raise. Within the lease period make sure to save enough income to buy your own because leasing is more costly in the
1000
long run.

7.	Avail of government programs. A Small Business Administration loan can be helpful in encouraging banks and institutions to extend business financing to establishments they might otherwise turn down. Generally SBA has the same conditions as an ordinary financing company.

8.	Utilize your savings. It is time to use your long time savings for greater purpose. You might be a little hesitant but do not worry because if your business will succeed it will come back to you with twice its value.

9.	Mortgage your property. Mortgage must be the last resort that you should consider because of the risk it can bring. If you fail to pay you might lose more than what you bargained for.
You can combine any of these nine choices to come up with a best business financing suitable for you and your business.

What you are about to read, this aggressive small business strategy comes after 21 years as a Madison Avenue Copywriter and Keyword Expert, 6 years as an article marketing entrepreneur, and the last 15 months as a Twitter professional.

If I were a business owner with LIMITED marketing dollars, this is EXACTLY what I would do:

1) Do Simple Keyword Research To Find Your Best Keywords

Your best keywords are the keywords that people are ALREADY searching for on a monthly basis in your industry. If you are a pillow manufacturer, you will surely discover that “pillow manufacturer” and “pillow manufacturers” and “pillow makers” are getting the most searches. Just know that the more generic the keywords, the more competition… the harder it is to get to Google page 1.

2) Write Powerful Articles Using That Exact Keyword

Take that keyword and write powerful content around it. Give great content…reveal secrets and tips that are valuable. Do not “spin” useless content… it is a waste of time. Give great info to people and they will want to know more about you. That is when they will click your links in your articles.

3) Publish Those Articles To The Best Article Directories

You don’t need to publish everywhere. In fact, one or two directories is best.

4) Tweet To Those Articles From Your Twitter Accounts

THIS IS MY SPECIAL SAUCE. If you are on Twitter, and if you have targeted followers, they will love your new articles IF the content in those articles is deep.

Twitter traffic absolutely adores new content and they will race through your Tweets to find your new article which in essence will pre-sell them on you!

What have you done if you follow these steps?

You have gotten your best keywords to Google for nonstop organic traffic (by placing your keywords in articles) and you have also enabled yourself to get INSTANT web traffic by Tweeting to those articles from your Twitter accounts.

I have spend the past 15 months on Twitter building a network of 400,000, and I can tell you that if you follow these steps and put this process into place, you will be getting nonstop traffic to your site every day.

How am I so sure that this aggressive small business strategy works?

I generate between 8,000 and 10,000 clicks a day from Twitter to MY articles.

That’s how.

The more you can think like your small business banker, the more you can get out of your banking relationship. As a long-time trainer of commercial loan officers, let me take you inside the mind of your banker to tackle key issues in creditworthiness. Your ability to take your banker’s perspective, and not just your own, has a lot to do with your success in seeking financing.

“C” Is For Creditworthiness, AND…

I have found that it is all too easy for bankers to overlook critical issues that determine the financial health of their borrowers, and whether or not they repay their loans. To make sure none of these critical issues are missed when reviewing a small business loan request, I teach business bankers to remember a simple system of “C” words as they review your data. The “Six C’s of Commercial Credit” include Character, Capacity, Conditions, Capital, Collateral, and Cash Flow.

Not everyone singles out “Cash Flow” as a separate criterion for creditworthiness. But at most banks, it has become such an important part of credit analysis that I feel it deserves extra attention in the banker’s mind… and in the business owner’s mind, as well.

Cash Flow

In the end, “Cash” pays for everything, including debt. Bankers look for strong evidence that the business generates cash with each normal business cycle, sufficient to pay for operations and repay debt. Cash flow means much more than simply making a profit, it means using what is earned appropriately.

Cash flow analysis is a highly technical and sophisticated process, but it is intended to answer basic questions like these:

How is cash generated by the business, where does it come from? What are the sources of cash?

Are these sources stable and repeatable? Or am I seeing cash from one-time events?

How is cash used by the business? Where does it go?

Are these outflows predictable? Are there major uses of cash in the company’s future that they are not dealing with at the current time?

Does borrower ownership understand their uses and sources of cash, and take explicit steps to manage them for optimal results? Can I see their efforts to manage cash flow reflected in their financial statements?

What constraints do industry practices and conditions, and their customer and supplier relationships, put on their ability to manage cash flow?

Is cash taken out of the business (e.g., owner compensation) at a rate that leaves the business vulnerable to shocks, unable to respond to sudden changes in Conditions?

Is cash generation sufficient to support ongoing operations? Or is debt a permanent and indispensable feature of their operations?

Answer These Questions Before Asking for Credit

Demonstrating a good understanding of your own Cash Flow, how you generate and use cash in your business, is a powerful contributor to a successful credit discussion with your business banker. Take the time to work through these issues before approaching your bank.

While you may not be in a position to do a complete cash flow analysis, it is worth your time to develop a basic understanding of the inflows and outflows of cash in your operations. A business owner that understands, and even manages, Cash Flow, can give a banker confidence that the necessary resources will be there with it comes time to repay that loan.

Many people try starting their own small business at one time or another for various reasons. A smaller percentage of people take on several ventures at one time. The reasons are many and the motivations are various, but the simple truth is that there exist so many benefits for the small business owner. To the entrepreneur who is truly educated about the reality of the situation, the full span of the advantages becomes crystal clear, in time. Such perks include, tax benefits, control over one’s schedule and pay, and the simple satisfaction of accomplishing a goal. The fact is that a vast majority of the American economy is comprised of small business. That is possible because of average, everyday people who have followed a dream or two.

When creating the business plan, keep in mind that there are no rules, as far as what you desire to do. Creativity is the name of the game and each individual can keep things as simple as they would like, or get aggressive if the feeling fits. The reality of ownership and belonging to something that affects others in a positive manner stirs pride and satisfaction in the soul. Another great thing about owning a small business is the large volume of free support available. This may come in the form of organizations, information on the internet, and from others who traveled the same path before you.

If you find yourself in the rut of life’s predictable routines, shake things up a bit and look into claiming your own piece of the American pie. Be conscious of your overhead and start up costs and your small business will have a better chance of getting to profits, more quickly. There is nothing wrong with doing without a lot of luxuries that you would like, in order to save some money and get ahead, in the beginning. If you haven’t given yourself the opportunity to live a little and take on new challenges lately, this may be just the ticket for you.

It is not quite easy being your own boss but having control over your own business would be one of the best things that many people can only dream of. If you actually have the chance you make it, one of the most viable options that you have is starting your own cleaning business.

If you are wondering how to start your own cleaning business, you should know now that there are three major aspects that you have to focus on. One, you need to secure a budget in order to launch the business successfully. Two, you have to hire competent people as part of your cleaning crew and three, establish contact with potential clients before you formally become open for business.

Contrary to what you might be thinking, there are more ways than one on how to start your own cleaning business. Some people choose to start with a substantial capital while others prefer to start with a limited capital and work their way toward increasing that amount through large profit margins.

In order to have a successful cleaning business, you will need the most competent and industrious cleaning staff that you can find. These days, there are so many people out of a job that manpower will not be a problem. However, you will need to properly screen applicants depending on their character, past employment records, as well as willingness to learn new skills.

Once you have filled all the posts in the cleaning staff, you will need to secure a supplier for all your cleaning materials. The key to a successful cleaning business is having the best staff that uses the most effective cleaning tools. Before you even start hiring people, you need to immediately scout for suppliers so that you can compare wholesale prices, delivery arrangements and such other pertinent details that are crucial to your future operations.

It is very important that you try to negotiate for the lowest possible price so that your profit margin will increase. A cleaning business can become very profitable if you have a hardworking staff as well as an effective system that includes that use of top notch cleaning products.

The third aspect of the business is securing clients. The moment the idea of starting your own cleaning business occurs to you, make sure that you do not neglect scoping the market and get a glimpse of how many clients you will be able to secure during the first few months of operation.

It is necessary that you do a soft launching and get in touch with the possible clients and allow them to experience the kind of service that you are offering. It is a great way to obtain credibility and establish goodwill with businesses that are in need of cleaning services.

Much like all other types of businesses, a cleaning business needs to be managed well and it will not hurt if you continue to study techniques on how to make it better in order to be prepared for the long haul.

He also owns and maintains CleaningBusinessSecrets.com, an indispensable resource for anyone looking how to start your own cleaning business.

IT TAKES TIME TO BUILD FOR BIG RESULTS ONLINE

Building a business online is not a fast process – if anyone tells you any different, they want to sell you something! I know, I’ve been scammed and the scammers were well-known in the field of internet marketing!

If you are interested in building a solid business online, then you need to take your time and do it right. There’s the rub – do it right! What is right and what is wrong? It’s starting with something true and following the advice or resources provided.

There is a ton to learn and there are a lot of people out there wanting to sell you “stuff” – all kinds of stuff, often preying on your naivety. You need to differentiate between really great businesses out there and the other kind. You can only do that if you know what you are looking for and know the right questions to ask. Often, today, people won’t give you the whole picture until you’re so far into it that it is a real pain to change directions. If you had only known what questions to ask – that’s why you start with reputable sources.

Start on the right foot – it helps to do it right when you can find the right people and companies with whom to start the process. What I will give you here are the very best resources I found. If I had had these resources when I first started down the path to making money online, I would have saved myself thousands of dollars, my sanity, and thousands of hours by learning the sane ways to build an online business.

Scammers take more than your money. They take your time! A lot of time! And, then because they are so inept, they get a person totally confused. This confusion is deadly in learning something new. And, of course, it is standard for scammers to always blame the client – it’s never their problem! Of course, they won’t give you your money back either because they make you sign a contract and, magically, the date for reimbursement has passed by the time you realize they haven’t a clue what they are doing.

Thousands and thousands of people are scammed every single day by these scam artists as I found out through later research and they are not all billed as “get rich quick” either! Some people go so far as to mortgage their homes or cash in their registered savings programs for tools, addons, so-called coaching, which, again, garner no results. Some of them even lead their clients on further and further down the road of financial ruin by telling people, “Well, it’s because you don’t have this widget” so the client needs to spend even more money. Some people have been scammed to the tune of over $50,000 without any results whatsoever!

Why would I be giving you this information for free? I believe in doing something positive to reach as many people as possible who are thinking of starting a business online selling products and give them this advice for free – the person doesn’t have to pay me one red cent.

It’s my antidote to these scammers by leading you to good people giving good advice, people who really know what they are doing and are running honest businesses. The more the honest and excellent businesses are supported, the less room for others to crawl around inflicting harm.

This article – In this article, I will give you a beginner’s path to follow – oh, yes, another thing online – you’ll seldom find a path to follow. Most of what you find is go here then go there then do this and do that and go there, here and the mess goes on wasting time and money. Ironic isn’t it that on computers we find what we need by following paths and yet to learn how to sell using computers, there is no path.

If you follow this path, it will be a lot easier to get going on the right foot. And realize this: selling online is a business, it needs to be built like any other business and you need to make decisions along the way about everything – and know that before you finish, you’ll have changed you mind many times on different aspects of your business – it’s natural.

• name of your business – you might change your name several times before you settle on one so don’t be in a rush to create your business name unless you’ll just be using your personal name as the name of your business • decide on what to sell – you’ll hear niche, niche, niche to the point you’ll get sick of that word. All it means is that you take a big category like kitchen and boil it down to something you are actually going to specialize in such as non-stick bake ware or small appliances

• create a small business plan for yourself – a one or two pager – this gives you a starting point to write down all your thoughts knowing that it will all change as you go to the process such as My Business is, My Ideal Client looks like this, I am Selling this product, I expect to earn XXX $ in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years and This is how I’m going to do it – just list some basic steps at first –

• take your time – if you’re working, keep you day job. If you are not, get a part-time job because it will take time and money and resources to get going.

• give yourself at least six months to be underway – yes, it’s possible to do it in much shorter period of time but that means you’ll need a little luck to find the right product at the right price at the right time, in the right format and in an economy that is in the “mood” to buy what you are selling. Not likely but hey, it has happened. So the question is where do you start? Take these initials steps – they’ll start you down the right road.

1. BEGIN WITH EBAY

If you are going to start on eBay which is likely a good idea, then begin by opening an account with eBay and an account with PayPal. PayPal is owned by eBay and you can’t sell on eBay without it.

Why is this a good idea? Because you may choose not to sell regularly on eBay at some point, but eBay is always a great resource to try out products and guage sales before you buy a whole truck full of stuff.

It’s easy to open an account – just go to eBay.com and sign up.

The eBay website is enormous and contains so much information, you’ll find it difficult to find what you are looking for at times but they do offer Live Chat on certain pages. Start with the Site Map and go to the Sellers Resources section. Study all the information they have in that category. Some of it may not make sense at first until you get familiar with the site.

Look in your closet or basement or shelves and see what you might want to sell that is in good shape but you don’t need it or want it any longer. Make sure it’s not a piece of junk but something that is like new. Go on eBay and sell it on a seven-day auction. Don’t worry about the day or the time of the day or all these factors you’ll learn about later – just sell half a dozen things. Then try a fixed-priced auction.

Many, many people will tell you to start selling at 99 cents. No. Don’t unless you will accept 99 cents for the item without regret. Otherwise, start the bidding at a reasonable level – the minimum you would accept for the item. For the shipping, do not get into free shipping at first. Get the experience of shipping costs. Simply find a way to weigh the item or approximate how much it weighs and how big the box will be to ship it in and look up on the post office website approximately how much it would cost to ship it to furthest distance from you eg if you are on the West Coast then pick a city on the East Coast.

Then buy a few things – not expensive things but things you might want or need.

Buying and selling on eBay will give you the experience of being both a buyer and a seller so that you can understand what the buyers expect and what it’s like to deliver as a seller. You’ll get an understanding of the eBay fees you are charged, the process for mailing out the item, using PayPal and learning more and more about these two platforms as you wade through the processes.

eBay has a ton of free material for learning about selling online – it’s all you’ll need for now. If you can feel comfortable buying and selling on eBay and understand how eBay works, you’ll be a long way along the path to selling online.

2. FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU WANT TO SELL

This sounds easy. You are probably thinking you know what you want to sell. Well, you’ll soon find out that what you want to sell may not be what you end up selling for a number of reasons unless you are already in retail and are just adding online sales as a way to go in which case, you’re likely not reading this anyhow.

One of the best ways to do a basic initial piece of research is to click on advance search on eBay search bar, put it the search section what you want to sell, click on completed listings below and search. The completed listings will tell you whether such an item is really selling or not and what prices people are willing to pay. There are other places on eBay too which will give information about products being sold such as What’s Hot, Deals of the Day, etc.

Know this about eBay: people go to eBay to find bargains – the buyers are looking for the lowest price possible either to resell products on other sites or just because they are bargain hunters. It is not necessarily the price that the item will sell on the open market.

Next, you need better research so go to WorldWide Brands, WORLDWIDE BRANDS SITE and sign up for a membership – it’s the best investment you’ll ever make. Chris Malta is the Founder of this enterprise – an honest, no nonsense business man who succeeded online at a time when the tools were not so easy to use and the research much more difficult to come by.

At WorldWide Brands you’ll find videos – lots and lots of videos – and information which will teach you everything you ever wanted to know about sourcing products.

More good news – they have suppliers whom they have checked out as reputable suppliers and those suppliers are willing to work with small startups!!! Eventually, you’ll realize what a goldmine WorldWide Brands is as you wade through the maze of things people want to sell you – books, ebooks, courses, coaching, etc. – you’ll know not to buy anything else until you have studied both the eBay and WorldWide Brand information thoroughly.

With these two steps alone, it will likely take you at least a month if you work around the clock to study what’s available to you. Keep selling items on eBay while you’re learning.

Also, on eBay, listen to the radio show with Griff. You’ll find it on the Sitemap under Community unless eBay has changed the location. You’ll learn that eBay is constantly updating and changing things around. Listen to this show every week – you’ll be amazed what you learn.

You’ll eventually want to know more about the marketplace. There are two good research tools available: Hammertap and Terapeak. Eventually, it’ll be a good thing to sign up and buy this service. Yes, another learning curve but well worth it. In the meantime, use Google’s free tools such as keyword research tool – you’ll find a wide array of free tools on Google which, at the beginning, are good enough. Later, you’ll be able to decipher which specific programs, services and addons you’ll need to add.

3. WHAT YOU’LL EVENTUALLY REALIZE

You’ve settled on the product you want to sell, you have your suppliers and you’re ready to sell – well, maybe. There are a few more steps first.

One of those steps is to sign up with Amazon. Why? Because Amazon is a great place to sell product. Not only is it a great place to sell product but Amazon can also act as your fulfilment house. Instead of having your suppliers send you product, the product is sent to Amazon and Amazon ships it for you – a big, big bonus!

Of course, you can make the most money by having your own website along with selling on eBay and Amazon. To that end, don’t drive yourself crazy trying to find someone who will build a site for you. Keep it simple but effective at first. Don’t go for fancy, dancy graphics unless you have money to burn and you want to brand yourself immediately. Just get started and the best place to get started is Yahoo Stores. They have a complete solution for ecommerce people. Noi matter what people tell you, it’s better to get going – learning by doing – and, once you have all the basics going, then go for the “nice” stuff such as branding and hire people to help you customize your site, emails, etc. You’ll be able to afford it then!

If you are totally new to website and ecommerce, obtain the services of 1Choice4YourStore – they specialize in helping people set up their Yahoo stores for the greatest effectiveness. And, guess what – yes, here too you’ll have access to a lot of educational material all included in the price of admission! You won’t need anything else for now.

There you have it – by the time you have gone through all of this, you’ll be selling online. But… there still will remain a massive amount to learn to sell effectively online.

The important thing is that you’ll have started on the right foot – you’ll have the basics down pat and ready to take on the more advanced “tweaks” to your business. You’ll have suppliers, three venues to sell from and the opportunity now to keep learning and keep developing your business – there’s a lot more to be done!

I sincerely hope this information will be useful to you. Heaven knows it has cost me dearly getting to it – I’d like to save you that time and money!

One of my missions in life is to help people with the knowledge I’ve acquired and “pass it on”.

I’ve worked in many types of industries including mining, health, law, performing arts, import/export businesses, real estate development, seniors’ activity programming, small business, self-help, associations, education and now online. As a senior manager in intense organizations, I’ve learned one important thing – if your operations are not working efficiently and effectively, money is rolling out the door and it won’t show up in your financial statement as a line item!

My forte is operations – I can analyze and assess quickly what needs to happen in organization in order that it function more efficiently and effectively. Then, in collaboration with those working in the business or non-profit, I can implement the processes and procedures which will maximize the operational efficiency.
